Yorkshire Building Society is today introducing a monthly interest option on its high interest savings account.
The decision follows feedback from a number of its members and will apply to its Yorkshire Internet Saver account, which currently offers 4.70 per cent interest.
Yorkshire also guarantees the product will at least match the Bank of England base rate until February 28th 2007.
Chris Edwards, Yorkshire savings spokesman, said: "We regularly ask our members for feedback on the products and services we provide, and the new ones they like us to consider.
"The introduction of a monthly interest option on the Internet Saver account is as a direct result of this feedback and, as it is now one of the top paying monthly interest accounts, is likely to be very appealing to those who rely on their savings for income."
The account requires a minimum balance of £1 and savers can opt to complete their transactions online or opt for a cash card, which gives access to over £250 cash per day from over 30,000 cash machines in the UK.
