Websites are increasingly encouraging consumers, including those looking to save for their children, to use independent financial advisors (IFAs), the results of a new study suggest.
Conducted by IFA Life, the research indicates that there has been a 70 per cent rise in the amount of online coverage of financial matters over the summer, with "large numbers" of sites providing advice on how to find and choose an IFA.
"We closely monitor the internet for websites which mention IFAs, financial planners and personal finance advice and we've seen a big increase in the number of sites advising consumers to get financial advice," stated IFA Life founder Philip Calvert.
In other news, figures produced recently by American Express Insurance Services revealed that 21 per cent of people questioned in a recent poll were planning to stop making regular contributions to Child Trust Funds in order to help make ends meet as the cost of living rises.
