The UK is set for its inaugural Ethical Investment Week as various organisations aim to boost the profile of the sector.
According to the organiser of the events, the UK Social Investment Forum, the level of interest in ethical investing has been increasing dramatically in recent months and this presents financial service firms with significant opportunities.
Parents use a variety of investment vehicles in their efforts at saving for children and service providers can attract their custom by allocating assets in a manner that is deemed to be more ethical and sustainable than others on the market, the forum maintains.
More than £7 billion is now thought to be invested in ethical funds in the UK and the week of events scheduled for their promotion gets underway on May 18th.
Among the businesses getting involved with the initiative is F&C Investments, which is to host a conference next week focussing on how ethical issues are impacting financial advisors.
