UK savers 'branching out' with Isa range

The forthcoming year is set to be the best for individual savings accounts (Isas) in five years, an investment platform predicts, while it also claims that investors are planning on moving beyond traditional UK sectors in their Isa purchases.

In response to these predictions, FundsNetwork has launched a new range of Isa packages for 2007, with seven packages available classified as core or themed.

Three core accounts available are labelled as cautious, balanced or growth and select funds according to ratings and fund performance, while the themed accounts are aimed at investors interested in specific regions or types of investment, such as ethical funds and property.

Rob Fisher, head of sales and marketing at FundsNetwork, said: "With all the signs pointing to 2007 being the best year for Isas since the previous peak in 2002, we are delighted to offer these packages, designed to take the hassle out of Isa planning."

He added that the company had seen anecdotal evidence showing investors widening the scope of the funds in which they are looking to invest through their Isa purchases.

FundsNetwork is an investment supermarket from Fidelity International that enables savers to invest in over 1,000 funds.
