Millions of Brits 'have no time' for pension research

Millions of Britons are failing to find time for pension research as a result of their busy schedules, according to recent research.

Figures compiled by American Express have shown that almost a third of all adults in the UK have been unable to find time get to grips with the finer points of their retirement saving strategy.

In addition, more than a quarter of British consumers do not spent time looking through or even glancing over their monthly bank statements, which could also have a knock-on effect on their efforts in saving for retirement.

"We recognise that for many hard working Britons there are simply not enough hours in the day," said Chris Rolland, head of insurance services at American Express.

"However, our research shows many Brits are letting their health, relationships and finances suffer as a result."

A report released recently by Virgin Money suggested that adding an extra £100 per month to a retirement saving pot can make a dramatic difference to how sizable a pension an individual saver will ultimately accumulate.
