Lucky savers hit the jackpot

Two lucky savers recently won over £1 million each through their premium bonds, NS&I has revealed.

The first winner comes from Cardiff where are a total of nearly 120,000 people hold premium bonds, potentially including consumers who are saving for children.

Commenting on his windfall, he said: "This is such amazing news for me and my family. I can't quite believe it's true; we are just so excited by it."

Meanwhile, the second winner was from Northamptonshire, where more than 230,000 people hold such bonds.

According to NS&I, the current odds of a £1 bond winning a prize stand at 24,000 to 1.

It goes on to point out that this means that an investor with £30,000 in premium bonds could win 15 prizes a year.

In addition to such investment offerings, NS&I provides other products including cash individual savings accounts and fixed interest saving certificates, as well as children's bonus bonds.
