Direct savings account from Birmingham Midshires

Parents hoping to start saving funds for the children's future can take advantage of a new 'no nonsense' account from Birmingham Midshires.

The building society is launching a Direct Savings account, with telephone or internet access, offering a competitive rate of 4.75 per cent gross per annum.

The savings provider is advertising the account as offering 0.25 per cent more than the successful ING direct savings account until August 1st 2008.

"Financial institutions hitting the market with competitively priced products are always good news for the consumer," commented Andrew Hagger from moneyfacts.

"It is certainly refreshing to see another player in the savings market introducing a 'no strings' account paying a decent rate of return, rather than launching an account offering a seemingly high rate of interest, but only to disappoint consumers when they discover prohibitive conditions hidden in the small print."

Barclays also offers several good savings accounts for those hoping to invest for the future, for more information click on our free brochures page.
