Brits urged to take advantage of Isa deals

British consumers have been urged to take advantage of the deals that have been made available by providers of individual savings accounts (Isas).

Moneysupermarket.com is convinced that may of the country's banking groups are keen to attract Isa investments in light of the problems encountered by Northern Rock last year.

"[Financial service firms'] desire to secure more deposits is no doubt due to last year's Northern Rock debacle, which highlighted the need for providers to have substantial deposits," a statement from Moneysupermarket.com read.

"Savers can certainly take advantage of this as we head towards April 5th and the end of the tax year."

The financial comparison firm has also reported that the best Isa deal available a year ago would not now make it into a list of the top ten offers on the market in the UK.

Isa's are often used by parents as a method of saving for children and Abbey recently urged British consumers to access how well each of their financial products are performing.
