Most people in the UK now use the internet when they want to find out about saving for retirement or any other kind of personal finance issue, it has been suggested.
Information on all manner of financial subjects can now be accessed online and only 12 per cent of Britons say they still prefer to get face-to-face advice on these issues.
Fair Investment Company carried out the study and said that the results were part of a wider trend within British society that means millions of people now rely in the internet as their most important research tool.
"The internet provides a quick and convenient way for people to become self informed in areas such as personal finance, where there is access to up to date rates, news and content," said Fair Investment director David Doulton.
Meanwhile, a recent report from Close Investments suggested that inheritance tax is one area of personal finance that many British retirees need to find out more about.
